Dick Whittington

Friday 8 December 2017 – Sunday 7 January 2018

GUILDFORD’S Yvonne Arnaud Theatre is thrilled to announce Judy Cornwell will star as Fairy Bowbells in their rags to riches family pantomime adventure Dick Whittington this Christmas.

Judy is most fondly remembered as Daisy, the long-suffering sister of Hyacinth Bucket in five series of the hugely popular BBC series Keeping Up Appearances and Mrs Claus in the Christmas favourite, Santa Claus the Movie.  As well as enjoying work on stage and radio too, Judy has written four novels and an autobiography.

Attempting to thwart her fairy magic, supreme cabaret performer and definitive Panto baddie Kit Hesketh-Harvey joins Judy on stage as he returns to Guildford to lord it over us as the rebellious King Rat.

Sure to rise to the occasion, Surrey and Hampshire’s favourite breakfast show host, Eagle Radio’s Peter Gordon is cooking up a storm as Sarah the Cook, ready to whisk you a merry Christmas.

Watch out!  Causing mischief and mayhem, Panto favourite Jamie Brook plays Idle Jack – play being the operative word, as Idle Jack does not like hard work.  He’s having too much fun fooling around with water pistols and launching custard pies at passers-by!

From Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap to a shop overrun with rats, if anyone’s qualified to deal with a rodent mystery, surely Nick Barclay has to be the best man for the job of Alderman Fitzwarren.

Fresh from playing dashing Rolf Gruber in the UK tour of The Sound of Music, Kane Verrall will play the title role of Dick Whittington.

Following her success as Rumpleteazer in Cats, Georgie Leatherland is the purrfect choice to help Dick out of a real catastrophe as his trusty feline friend, Tommy the Cat.

Performance Preparation Academy’s Natalie Turner completes the cast, sure to delight as adorable Alice Fitzwarren this Christmas.

Bag the best seats in the house by getting your family Christmas outing in the diary now and join the Panto gang on their magical, swashbuckling search for fame and fortune.

Tickets for Dick Whittington are on sale now!  You can book yours by calling the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre Box Office on (01483) 44 00 00 or by visiting the website at www.yvonne-arnaud.co.uk
