X Factor winner Sam Bailey promises 'amazing' Aldershot show

Published at 6:03am 4th May 2017.

X Factor winner Sam Bailey says she can't wait to 'put on an amazing show' in Aldershot tonight.

The star, described by Gary Barlow as having an 'incredible' voice, received more than one million votes over the course of the final weekend of her stint on the show.

She won the 10th series of the X Factor in 2013 and prior to that had worked as a prison officer, as well as performing on cruise ships, in clubs and at music festivals for several years.

Following her triumph, her debut single, 'Skyscraper', reached Christmas number one and her debut album, The Power of Love stormed to the top of the UK album charts in 2014.

Sam is performing at the Princes Hall on Thursday 4th May.

Acclaimed singer/songwriter NIKKI LOY will be opening for her, with her "smoky, sensuous and soulful" voice showcased in an acoustic set.

Nikki has supported a host of stars such as jazz great Janette Mason, Americana artist Lauren Prichard, Decca Artist Krystina Myles and Irish pop folk singer Wallis Bird.

Over the past few months, Sam has been running competitions to search for local talent to support her on her tour, by inviting singers in each area to apply to be her special guest for one night. Wings was selected by Sam to perform at Princes Hall.

Matthew James, Jenny Milner, Sarah Milner, Chris Scott and Katie-Emma Silverson belong to Wings Productions and are thrilled to have been invited to support Sam for the second time.

Finally, Sam is delighted to be joined on stage by community choir Rock Choir

The star said: "I'm so happy to be performing with a choir on my tour. I love the depth a choir can add to live vocals and I want to put on an amazing show for my fans. I'm so excited for everyone to see what we have planned!"
