Coronavirus: Six Surrey cricketers self-isolating

Published at 4:23pm 16th March 2020.

Surrey County Cricket Club have confirmed six of their players are in self-isolation as a precaution related to the coronavirus outbreak.

The rest of the squad are continuing to train ahead of the new season.

Not all six have reported symptoms, but close proximity means that they have all been instructed to stay at home this week.

The six players have not been named.

Surrey's first pre-season fixture is scheduled to go ahead on 2 April against Sussex.

Last week the club cancelled its pre-season training camp in Dubai which was due to begin tomorrow (17 March).

The cancellation of England’s tour of Sri Lanka and Jason Roy’s return from the Pakistan Super League means Sam Curran, Ben Foakes, Ollie Pope and Roy will rejoin the squad for training from next week.
