England team to play Nepal at Aldershot's Ebb Stadium

Published at 1:17pm 7th February 2020.

Nepal's National Team are to play the England C Team in Aldershot this summer.

The friendly fixture at the EBB Stadium will mark the end of a week-long 'festival of football' aimed at celebrating diversity, in a town with a population of nearly 10,000 Nepalese people.

It will take place on Monday 25 May 2020 and will also provide an opportunity for people to find out more on how to get involved in the game across various levels with stalls from the Hampshire FA, Army FA, Sahara UK and the UK Nepal Friendship Society.

The Nepal national team will visit England between 21-27 May with both teams visiting primary schools within the area during the week, as well as hosting open training sessions for the local community.

The England C Team is made up of players from across the country who play at non-league level.

Aldershot Town Chairman Shahid Azeem said:

“We are really pleased and honoured to host the official match between England C and Nepal at The EBB Stadium.

"This match is a reward for all the hard work and commitment the football club, the town, Sahara UK and Rushmoor Borough council have shown along with the local community.

"We hope that this match will show the Nepalese community that the club is inclusive to all and hopefully we’ll see more of the Nepali community watching Aldershot Town in the future.”

Match tickets are on sale now at the price of £10 for adults and £5 for kids under 16 and those aged over 65.
