Woking upset Swindon to reach FA Cup third-round for first time in 22 years

Published at 10:20am 3rd December 2018.

Woking FC have reached the FA Cup third-round for the first time in more than two decades after a shock 1-0 win away at Swindon Town.

Jake Hyde headed the Cards into the next stage of the competition with what was their only shot on target at the County Ground.

Going into the game League Two Swindon were 37 league places above the Surrey side, who now reside in the National League South following relegation last season.

Hyde, who was once on the books of the Robins, nodded in full-back Josh Casey's cross at the near post in the 76th minute to send the travelling fans wild:

The result means Alan Dowson's men will be in the hat for tonight's third-round draw alongside heavyweights such as Manchester United, Liverpool and holders Chelsea.

The draw for the next round will be made at 7.30pm and is live on BBC One. Woking will be ball number 54.
