Kruise Reddick commits to 2 more seasons with The Guildford Flames

Kruise Reddick

3:55pm 16th May 2018

Centre iceman Kruise Reddick will return to the Guildford Flames ice hockey club for the next 2 seasons after registering 77 points, including 30 goals, in 64 games across all competitions during his opening stint in Surrey.  His 27 goals and 39 assists in league play put him 2nd in club scoring and tied for 8th across Elite League charts.  The 27 year old joined the club after a season in the Swedish Allsvenskan with HC Vita Hästen where he had 6 goals and 19 points.  Reddick made his pro debut at the end of the college season schedule in 2015-2016 with Idaho Steelheads of the East Coast Hockey League where he had 4 goals and 2 assists in 14 League and Playoff starts.

"I am very excited and honoured to return to Guildford for another season,” said Reddick.   “Having the success we did last year really made me want to come back and build on that. Guildford is a great place to play, and I am very excited to be playing in front of all the great fans we have.”

Ahead of his pro career, the 5’9”, 185lb skater spent 5 seasons with the University of Alberta Golden Bears; the final pair as club captain.  The shifty forward had 14 goals and 30 points in 28 games during his last campaign before tacking on his season ending Steelhead activity.  In 133 College conference starts, Reddick had 46 goals as part of 118 points. His playoff success was highlighted with the delivery of back to back National titles in 2014 and 2015.

Reddick’s success earned him a spot on the All-Tournament team during the 2013-2014 University Cup event. The next season he was selected to his Conference’s 2nd All-Star team and later added the National tournament Most Valuable Player award. He also earned a spot on the Canadian team that won a Bronze Medal at the World University games where he had 5 goals and 3 assists in 6 games.

Before combining Athletics and Academics, Reddick iced 5 full seasons with the Western Hockey League’s Tri City Americans.  Including playoffs, he played 380 times, and posted 110 goals while adding 212 assists.  His best season was 2007-2008 when he had 23 goals and 74 points which earned him a look at camp with the National Hockey League’s Tampa Bay Lightning and Chicago Blackhawks.

“Kruise had a terrific year for us.” said Head Coach Paul Dixon. “His skating skills and ability to see the ice were a big part of the success of his line, and he really helped set a foundation for the team’s overall competitive attitude.”

“When you work with him everyday you notice his leadership qualities, his desire to win and have team success, and just the overall character of the person Kruise is beyond just playing hockey.”

“He is the kind of player that others want to play with, and we are exceptionally happy that he has chosen to be back here when the new season gets going in September.”
