Guildford Flames bounce back from weekend loss

Published at 2:14pm 22nd March 2018.

Guildford Flames bounced back from their weekend defeat last night with a 3-0 win over Dundee Stars.

Calle Ackered opened the score with a thrilling last minute goal in the first period, 9 seconds from the buzzer.

Davies and Walker followed up with a goal each, increasing the gap between the Flames and the Stars to 3-0.

Goalkeeper Brian Stewart who returned to the ice after a long term injury, saved 17 shots on the goal during the game.

Coach Paul Dixon said, “After the disappointment of Sunday against Coventry it feels a lot better to have taken advantage of the quick turnaround to get a win under our belts ahead of Saturday’s visit by Braehead.”

After Braehead, the Flames take on Coventry away on Sunday in the final league game of the season.
