Flames faced a 4-3 loss to visitors Manchester Storm in yesterday's game (18 February).

Just 95 seconds into the game Manchester's Matt Beca got past Chris Carrozzi to get a 1-0 lead.

Soon after, Guildford found themselves down two players and Manchester converted seconds into the powerplay with Dan Byres doubling their lead.

Two minutes into the second frame, a goal from Luke Moffatt brought the lead up to 3 points.

Ian Watters got the Flames on the board scoring a loose puck at the end of the middle period, quickly followed by another from Mikeal Lidhammer.

With just one point between the teams, Kruise Reddick brought it to an even game with another goal, scoring a table point and forcing overtime.

However, a 3-2 edge across 5 penalty shooters helped Storm take home the win.

"This was a game of two halves" said Head Coach Paul Dixon.

“Manchester was definitely value for a good lead by the halfway point, but we certainly have to tip our hat to our own dressing room that always believes there is game to be played, and turned what could have been a disastrous outing into at least a table point.”

He continued: "We have seen it before this season, but it is always refreshing when they pull that team trait out of the bag when it is needed.

"It would have been so rewarding to leave the ice with the win in the bank, but I think we have to look at this game with a lot of positives in mind despite the overall outcome."
