Surrey Scorchers knocked out of Play-Offs after defeat to Leicester

Published at 6:20pm 30th April 2017.

Surrey Scorchers are out of the BBL Play-Offs after a 94-58 defeat in the second leg against Leicester Riders today (April 30).

Creon Raftopoulos' side went into the game with confidence after an impressive 73-73 draw at the Sports Park on Friday, but ultimately Leicester proved one hurdle too high.

Over the two legs the riders won 167-131.

However, Surrey can take great pride in their 2016/17 campaign after showing huge signs of improvement.

This season they finished eighth in the league, four places higher than the previous season when they bottomed the table.

After qualifying for the Play-Offs last week, Head Coach Creon Raftopoulos told Eagle: ""At the start of the season we set out to get to the Play-Offs so this is a big result for us."
