Aldershot Town take on Tranmere in battle for promotion

Published at 5:53pm 13th April 2017. (Updated at 5:55pm 13th April 2017)

Aldershot Town play a crucial match in the battle for promotion on Friday.

The Shots are away to Tranmere Rovers, with the game live on BT Sport.

Gary Waddock's side are currently fifth heading into this one, if they end the season in that position they'll make the Vanarama National League play-offs.

It won't be an easy match though, with their opponents second in the league already scoring 14 goals this month.

Aldershot manager Gary Waddock said: "It'll be a very entertaining game.

"Two teams that play with high energy and intensity, both teams want to pass it and move so I see it being a very, very good game.

"For our young players it will be a good stage to go and hopefully perform on.

"We'll see the ones that can step up to the plate and show character and personality to perform at that stage."

Kick off is at 3 o'clock.

Meanwhile Woking continue their battle for survival in the Vanarama National League this afternoon.

The Cards take on Macclesfield in the Vanarama National league.

Garry Hill's side sit right on the edge of the relegation zone ahead of Friday's match.

Kick off is also at 3 o'clock.
