Dream over for Sutton United

Sutton's memorable run in the FA Cup is over.

The non-league side were beaten 2-nil by Premier League giants Arsenal in their fifth round tie at Gander Green Lane.

It means Arsenal now go on to face Lincoln City at home in the quarter-finals.

Sutton's run to the fifth round included victories over AFC Wimbledon and Leeds United.

Last night's game caused great excitement in Sutton - with local fans glued to their TV screens as the lowest ranked team left in the FA Cup took on a team who have won the competition 12 times.

Before the match, fan Colin Charlton told Eagle Radio: "It will be electric - it will be absolutely superb - it is the first time we have been in the fifth round.

"It is putting Sutton on the map again - the whole of Sutton will be behind them, supporting them."

Sutton United players tell us how they are feeling ahead of the match:

Another fan, Stuart Bell, told Eagle he would be at the game - but had mixed loyalties: "I will be attending the game - I have amazingly got a ticket. They are like gold dust at the moment so I am really happy.

"But I am actually an Arsenal fan but I am in the Sutton end.

"If Sutton can score tonight I will be very happy - but I do want arsenal to win I'll be honest."
