Shots Director Brian Bloomfield steps down

Published at 1:16pm 13th February 2017.

Brian Bloomfield has stood down from his role as a Director at Aldershot Town.

The decision comes as he is relocating to Barcelona with his wife Carol.

Bloomfield was on the Shots board for three years and was instrumental in helping to stabilise the club during that period.

He was a key figure in the formation of the Supporters Trust and his history with the club goes way back as he is an avid Shots fan.

Bloomfield leaves the club in high spirit and is excited of what is yet to come from Gary Waddock's men.

He said: "I was extremely proud to represent the club on the board. I am very confident that I leave the club in good hands, and it will kick on to reach new heights.

"I will continue to support the club home and away whenever possible, and will be following progress from Spain on social media.

"I can honestly say, 'once a shot, always a shot' and I'll certainly return for our play-off games - if we finish in the top five."

Aldershot are currently sixth in the Vanarama National League with 51 points.
