Victory at home and defeat away for the Flames this weekend.

They gained a 3 - 2 advantage on Saturday against Pererborough Phantoms.

A pair of early goals by Marcus Kristoffersson had the Flames holding a home ice lead

But the Flames suffered a 3 - 1 defeat away to The Phoenix in Manchester.

Head Coach Paul Dixon told Eagle Radio:

"If there was a common theme from the weekend it was that we probably should have been able to score more on both nights based on how we executed".

"Against Peterborough I felt like we consistently generated the better of the evening's scoring chances.  At the same time they have a quick team and they were able to push back.

Between us it was a really entertaining game with opportunities at both ends of the ice so we are pleased with that result.

As for the visit to Manchester it felt like a one sided game. We were the dominant team and did everything but score. We had 21 shots in the 1st period alone.

We could have been up at one stage by about 4 or 5, but we didn't capitalise, and they hung around long enough to make us pay.

Converting our good chances is something we are going to have to be mindful of as we move further into the schedule, but overall we can't complain with our performance.

In that respect we can take a positive outlook with us unto the upcoming games, and work to make sure that good play equals results."
