14 year olds attacked while playing badminton in a Surrey park

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 8:31am 30th June 2020.

An appeal is out for witnesses after two teenagers were attacked in a park in Surrey.

Officers say the 14 year old boys were playing badminton at the Warren Recreation ground in Epsom on the 27 May, when they were approached by two men between 8pm and 8:15pm.

The suspects - both men in their late teens or early twenties - verbally abused them, before punching one of the victims in the head and making off with his headphones.

The headphones were returned when a member of the public intervened.

The suspects are described as:

  • White, in their late teens or early 20s
  • One suspect was wearing a baseball cap, black shorts with a red stripe down the side, and white trainers. He also had a tattoo on the inside of his lower right arm.
  • The other suspect was wearing black baggy tracksuit bottoms which were spattered with paint and white trainers.
  • Both were not wearing tops at the time of the incident.

Police say they believe the suspects were last seen in the vicinity of Epsom Downs at around 9.30pm and may have been accompanied by a woman.
