Lanes closed in Blackwater for emergency water repairs

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 1:28pm 8th June 2020.

Lane closures are in place for five days this week in Blackwater for emergency water works.

Two lanes, one in either direction, are shut so that South East Water can carry out repairs.

The lanes - at the junction of London Road and Rosemary Lane - will remain closed between today (8 June) and Friday (12 June) for the safety of drivers and pedestrians.

There will be no right turn from the London Road into Rosemary Lane, no right turn from London Road into Green lane and no right turn into London Road at the Vicarage Road junction.

A clearly-signed diversion route will be in place throughout the duration of the project.

Philip Cereda, South East Water Regional Works Delivery Manager, said:

"We need to carry out some emergency repairs on some of our apparatus in the area.

"We're also carrying out some other repairs at the same time, rather than causing future disruption to customers and motorists.

"Due to the complexity of the work, it is not possible for us to do this at night.

"We are very sorry for any disruption the traffic management may cause but we hope everyone understands it is there to ensure their safety."
