Second dispersal order for Hawley Lake after reports of brawl

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 11:49am 4th June 2020.

A dispersal order is in place for a second time in the Hawley Lakes area in Farnborough, following reports of a brawl and a large group making threats.

It means police can break up large groups and get them to leave the Lakes, Woods and surrounding area from 6pm on Friday (5 June) to 6pm on Sunday (7 June).

The incidents took place on the Bank Holiday Monday (25 May).

Inspector Mayne said the order was successful last weekend:

"In that, there were no reports of disorder in the area.

"There were several large groups of teenagers but as soon as they saw police, they left the area without any issues.

"These orders give us powers to disperse large groups of people out of the Lakes, Woods and surrounding area and we can continue to extend their use as necessary, in partnership with the MOD Police."

The dispersal order covers parts of the A327 and A30 and part of Fernhill Road and Sandy Lane.

High visibility police patrols continue in the area.

Anyone who witnesses anti-social behaviour or large gatherings is encouraged to call 101.

If a crime or incident is in progress call 999.
