"You were my soul mate" tributes paid to 73 year old who died in Ash Vale crash

"I miss you so much, you were my soul mate"- just one of the touching tributes made after a man was killed in a crash Ash Vale.

73-year-old Antony Edwards died after a collision with a white Kia as he was crossing Vale Road last Thursday (14 May).

The inquest into his death was formally opened and adjourned at Woking Coroner’s Court yesterday (21 May). 

Antony's family say he was dearly loved and will be greatly missed, his brother in law and niece said:

“We thank you for the time we shared, your kindness, knowledge, humour and generosity.

"Forever in our hearts and treasured memories.” 

Antony’s partner said:

“I miss you so much, you were my soul mate.

"There will never be another like you in my life.”

His stepdaughter described the 73-year-old as 'a stepdad with a kind heart and quirky sense of humour. Miss you.'

One of Antony’s granddaughters said her grandpa was 'generous and humble with a cheeky soul.'

Another granddaughter added:

"There's a hole where your comforting and gentle presence once was.

"Your kindness and generosity won't be forgotten.”

Surrey Police is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it to come forward.
