Pedestrian dies following serious Ash Vale crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Ash Vale this morning (14 May).

Officers were called to Vale Road shortly after 11am to a report of a collision between a white Kia and two pedestrians.

The pedestrians, a couple in their 70’s, were crossing the road when they were involved in the collision with the Kia.

The incident happened close to Ash Vale railway station.

Both pedestrians were taken to Frimley Park Hospital after being treated by paramedics.

Surrey Police said the male pedestrian sustained serious head injuries and died later in hospital.

The air ambulance also attended, landing at the nearby Carrington Recreation Ground.

Officers want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it.

They are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a white van that was behind the Kia at the time of the collision.
