Project Wingman welcomes frontline NHS workers on board at Royal Surrey

Published by Lettie Buxton at 7:50am 11th May 2020.

Frontline NHS workers in Guildford will be able to visit a 'First Class Lounge' at the Royal Surrey County Hospital from today (11 May).

The lounge will be a place for health workers who are tackling the COVID-19 pandemic to take a break, as well as being able to chat to uniformed crew members, or have something to eat and drink.

It is part of Project Wingman, which aims to deliver first class service to NHS staff during the outbreak.

Workers at Frimley Park Hospital were welcomed on board their lounge last week, as previously reported by Eagle Radio.

Project Wingman is made up of airline crew who have been furloughed, grounded, or made redundant because of the coronavirus crisis.

Donations of a variety of items, including food, drink and soft furnishings, can be made online.
