A coronavirus testing centre has opened at the exhibition centre at Farnborough Airport.

People who are eligible can apply for a test online, with the facility being invitation only.

In a statement CEO of Farnborough International Gareth Rogers said:

“There could not be a better use of our facilities than assisting the National Health Service during this time of extraordinary challenge.

“It is a privilege to be working alongside the NHS in hosting this facility.

“Our thoughts are with those affected by COVID-19, their loved ones, and we are, of course, full of admiration for the amazing healthcare staff and all the key workers working on the front line of this pandemic.”

Who is eligible for a test?

  • Essential workers living or working in Surrey, who are self-isolating either because they have symptoms or someone in their household has symptoms, are eligible to register with Surrey's testing hub
  • Anyone over 65 with symptoms
  • Anyone with symptoms whose work cannot be done from home (for example, construction workers, shop workers, emergency plumbers and delivery drivers)
  • Anyone who has symptoms of coronavirus and lives with any of those identified above
