Interactive map reveals Waverley's Hollywood hotspots

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 1:33pm 3rd May 2020. (Updated at 12:05pm 4th May 2020)

We may not be able to visit the cinema during lockdown - but we are being offered the opportunity to see where several famous movies were made - right here in Surrey.

Waverley Borough Council has released an interactive map of locations - where scenes from productions such as Skyfall and Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince were filmed.

Hankley Common played host to Skyfall’s dramatic conclusion - and to a scene from Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince.

The Mummy and Simon Pegg & Nick Frost's cult cop comedy Hot Fuzz featured Waverley Abbey in the final edit.

Now, you can follow the 'Waverley Film Trail' at home with an interactive map produced by the Borough Council.

The map - which can be found here - includes an extensive list of films, TV shows and locations.

Surrey's natural beauty is a lure for some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters.

Film and TV production in the borough is worth more than £200 million a year to the local economy, which includes each day of filming and additional tourism.
