Three people have been arrested and charged with assaulting an emergency worker and multiple other offences after an incident in Farnborough.

Hampshire Police were called to Aldwick Close shortly after 2pm yesterday (23 April). 

Farnborough officers said in a Facebook post the public order incident started with a group of people failing to follow the current guidelines, which then escalated into several police officers being assaulted there was an attempt to damage two police vehicles.

No officers were injured as a result.

Three people were arrested at the scene and then charged.

31-year-old Christopher Waite of Coombe Way in Farnborough, was charged with:

  • Assault by beating of an emergency worker
  • Affray.
  • He was remanded in custody to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court this morning (24 April).

33-year-old Sarah Jane Waite, of Aldwick Close in Farnborough, was charged with:

  • Assault by beating of an emergency worker
  • Criminal damage
  • A racially aggravated public order offence,
  • Using threatening/abusive/insulting words to cause harassment/alarm/distress.
  • She was bailed to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on 23 June. 

34 year old Daniel Stuart Fields of Aldwick Close in Farnborough, was charged with:

  • A racially aggravated public order offence
  • Using threatening/abusive/insulting words to cause harassment/alarm/distress
  • Two counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker
  • He was bailed to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on 23 June.
