NHS porter's motorbike stolen from Frimley hospital car park

Published by Lettie Buxton at 5:37pm 22nd April 2020.

Money is being raised to buy an NHS porter a new vehicle, after his motorbike was stolen from Frimley Park Hospital on Tuesday (21 April).

Ian Howell finished his shift to find the bike missing from the hospital car park.

Surrey Police believe it was taken at around 1.30pm, with officers confirming their investigation remains ongoing.

Ian's colleagues on the Parkside Ward have now launched a fundraiser to buy him a new bike or car so he can "continue to get to work each day and put smiles on the faces of the nurses and team that he works with, as he always does".

He told Eagle Radio he was humbled by the gesture:

"I did say to my colleague Ann 'I feel very humble', and her reply was 'it just shows you how much you're loved up there', on my unit.

"Thanks isn't big enough for what people have donated.

"I didn't expect it at all."

Anybody with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference P20090654.

Donations towards Ian's new vehicle can be made on the GoFundMe page.
