A garden designer from Churt in Surrey has organised a group of 50 volunteers and made around 3000 protective visors for frontline staff.

Sarah Bicknell, one of the original volunteers of the Churt Covid Community Support Group set up a Facebook page called Visors for Care Givers and an online fundraiser to help protect key workers during the coronavirus outbreak.

The group's first target area was supporting care homes in Grayshott, Haslemere,Godalming, Bordon and Farnham but as the project develops they are hoping to help the wider community as well.

The group currently has orders for local hospitals including The Royal Surrey in Guildford.

They have managed to order enough materials to make 5,000 visors which cost around 85p each to make, and their target is to make 20,000 in total.

So far over £4,000 has been donated but the group want to raise £20,000 with any extra funds going to the NHS.
