Appeal after man impersonating police officer gains entry to elderly woman's home in Bagshot

Police are appealing for help after a man gained entry to an elderly woman's home in Bagshot by claiming to be an officer.

They have released an E-fit of someone they want to speak to after the incident on 28 February at around 8:50pm in Guildford Road.

He claimed there had been several burglaries in the area and searched the 81 year old's property, before leaving without taking anything.

He also tried to gain access to another property in the same road that same night, before making off.

Surrey Heath PC Daniel Lomas said it "was clearly a crime targeting elderly residents.

"Someone will know who the offender is, and I would appeal to you to please come forward so we can prevent this from happening again.”

The suspect is believed to be white, in his 40s, around 5ft 7 tall, and clean shaven.

He was wearing black clothes at the time of the incident.

If you recognise the suspect shown in the image or have any information which might help with the investigation, please call 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online.
