Coronavirus: Another 828 patients die in hospital in England - including 67 at Surrey trusts

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 2:40pm 8th April 2020.

A total of 67 more patients being treated at NHS trusts with hospitals in Surrey have died after testing positive for COVID-19.

It means there have now been 352 confirmed deaths relating to coronavirus at the five trusts with hospitals in the county.

It is not clear exactly how many of those deaths have been in Surrey, as some of the trusts also have other sites based outside of the county. NHS England only publishes figures for deaths by hospital trust.

Across England 828 more people have died after contracting the virus, bringing the total to 6,483.

In a statement NHS England said:

"A further 828 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 6,483.

"Patients were aged between 22 and 103 years old.

"46 of the 828 patients (aged between 35 and 96 years old) had no known underlying health condition.

"Their families have been informed."
