House in Camberley badly damaged in fire

Firefighters have put out a large blaze which broke out in a property in Camberley early this morning.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service were called at around 2.25am today (24 March) to reports of a fire in Crawley Ridge.

Four fire engines  and the aerial ladder platform was used to extinguish the flames.

The blaze was out before 6:30am.

The fire damaged the first floor and roof of the house.

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service told Eagle Radio investigations are ongoing:

"Four fire engines were sent, the first of which arrived around 2.35am.

"Crews attended from Camberley, Woking and Godalming.

"A building fire on the roof and first floor caused approximately 101 to 200 square metres damage.

"The fire was dealt with and units left the scene around 6.20am, although units remained behind to continue damping down."
