Campaign to save Bordon pony therapy business

Published by Lettie Buxton at 6:00am 22nd March 2020.

A Bordon-based pony therapy business is campaigning to stay open amidst the coronavirus outbreak.

Pony Pals mainly work with older and medically vulnerable people, visiting care home residents with ponies and donkeys.

But, disruption is now being caused to its bookings as venues close their doors to outside activities to help stop the spread of the virus.

A statement on the online GoFundMe page says this disruption "could lead to a permanent closure of Pony Pals if we can not raise some funds to keep the team going through these uncertain times".

It continues the donations will "ultimately be paid back to the community by means of free visits to low budget venues, such as support groups and hospices, when everything is back to normal".

More than £1,500 has already been raised through donations - the target is £2,000.
