Farnborough Police issue eviction notices to traveller encampments

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 1:03pm 20th March 2020.

Two groups of travellers who pitched up in Farnborough have been moved on by police.

Two encampments arrived last week one at Hawley Lane and the other at Napier Gardens car park.

The Hawley Lane site was moved on Monday (16 March).

Farnborough Police say the Napier Gardens site was moved on yesterday (19 March):

"Our whole team spent the bulk of day at the Napier Gardens site enforcing an eviction notice obtained by the Council.

"The travellers had been moved by the end of the day and the site is currently being cleared by the Environmental Health team.

"I appreciate people have concerns about such encampments but it is important to remember that there are laws and processes in place that need to be adhered to and these encampments have been moved on relatively quickly this week."
