Coronavirus: Hampshire highest number of cases in England

Numbers of coronavirus cases have risen in Surrey and Hampshire to 76 - with Hampshire having the highest number in the country.

The latest figures were released by Public Health England (PHE) yesterday (15 March).

Hampshire has 53 confirmed diagnoses - the highest out of any local authority in England.

Surrey has 23.

It is out of 1,099 confirmed cases in England.

The information does not specify exact locations.

In total, across the UK, 35 people diagnosed with Covid-19 have died.

All had underlying health conditions or "were in the at-risk groups".

So far, 40,279 people have been tested in the UK, of which 38,907 were confirmed negative and 1,372 were confirmed as positive.

Anyone displaying symptoms of the virus, however mild, is being asked to stay at home and not leave for seven days from when your symptoms started.
