Police are appealing for information after extensive criminal damage at a Surrey park.

Officers say the disabled bathrooms at Clockhouse Lane Park on Clockhouse Lane in Ashford have been completely destroyed.

Between Saturday night (7 March) and last night (9 March), paint has been thrown around and play equipment has been broken.

The equipment has had to be removed by Spelthorne Council.

On a Facebook post, Spelthorne Police described the culprits as "selfish and heartless people":

"Not only will this cost a great deal of money to fix, that doesn't need to be wasted putting right these mindless acts, but the community has now been unfairly deprived of these facilities.

"If you have seen anything between Saturday night and last night that you think might be useful in our investigation please call us.

"If your child has come home covered in paint and had no reasonable explanation as to why, please call us.

"If we, as a community, want nice things and nice places to live, we need to work together to tackle anti-social behaviour and these mindless acts."
