Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre will remain closed tomorrow (10 March) after a visitor tested positive for the coronavirus.

A spokesperson from Aspire Defence Services Limited which runs the centre told Eagle Radio the person had attended a fitness class there last week (Tuesday 3 March).

The decision to close the Sports Centre was taken by Aldershot Garrison Command.

There are 20 clubs that use the centre regularly and will be affected by the closure.

Aspire Defence Services Limited says the external facilities are still available to use:

"The Sports Centre will remain closed tomorrow while the Garrison Management Team continues to seek advice from Public Health England on the appropriate action to be taken.

"Further updates will be issued tomorrow.

"External facilities remain unaffected and clubs will be contacted directly concerning regular bookings."

Anyone who has attended the Sports Centre recently and is concerned should contact NHS 111.
