Whitehill & Bordon to welcome a Royal visitor

Published by Lettie Buxton at 11:49am 4th March 2020.

A Royal visitor will be making his way to Whitehill & Bordon later this month.

His Royal Highness The Duke of Gloucester is visiting the town on 26 March to see the progress being made in the town’s regeneration.

The Duke, The Queen’s cousin, will be welcomed by East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) and its partners for a special celebratory event.

Councillor Ferris Cowper, EHDC’s Portfolio Holder for Whitehill & Bordon, said:

“A Royal visit to Whitehill & Bordon is incredibly exciting and is a real stamp of approval of what we are doing here.

“It is clear that people are sitting up and taking note of what is being achieved in Whitehill & Bordon as we transform the town from a military garrison into a green, healthy and connected town.

“The Duke of Gloucester is a former architect and I am excited to showcase the great strides we have made in developing the town to make it a great place to live and work.”

The regeneration of Whitehill & Bordon is a £1 billion, multi-partner, 15-year commitment to deliver around 3,350 new homes, 5,500 jobs and create nearly 100,000 square metres of new businesses space.
