Police are investigating reports of pigeons being killed with catapults in the car park of a Surrey Waitrose.

Officers say they have been gathering CCTV images of “three young persons” after the incident in Egham on Sunday afternoon (1 March).

It’s understood the force will then circulate the images to local schools and other officers in an attempt to identify the suspects.

An image of a dead pigeon was also shared by police on social media.

In a statement Surrey Police added:

“Do you know where your children are and what they do with their time?

“If you have information to assist us or you witnessed the group yesterday inside and outside Waitrose, please call 101 quoting 45200024002.”
