Snow showers spotted across Surrey and Hampshire

Reports are coming in of sleet and snow showers across Surrey and Hampshire this morning.

While there are no weather warnings in place for our area, wintry showers have been spotted along the Hogs Back, as well as in the following areas:

  • Ash Green
  • Bagshot
  • Beacon Hill
  • Bookham
  • Bordon
  • Camberley
  • Church Crookham
  • Clandon
  • Crondall
  • Ewhurst
  • Farnborough
  • Farnham
  • Frimley
  • Godalming
  • Grayshott
  • Guildford
  • Haslemere
  • Headley Down
  • Rowledge
  • Wrecclesham
  • Woking
  • Yateley

The wet weather is due to clear later to sunny spells.

Surrey and Hampshire's five day Met Office forecast:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain through the morning, possibly turning wintry across the north of the region. This will clear southeastwards in the early afternoon allowing sunny spells to develop. Feeling chilly and becoming breezy in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

A dry evening with predominantly clear skies and light winds, allowing areas of frost to form. Cloud increasing after midnight with outbreaks of rain spreading into western parts around dawn. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain soon spreading east across the region, and continuing through the afternoon. It will also become quite windy, especially near the coast. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Rain, heavy at times, clearing Saturday afternoon. Showers developing thereafter, heavy at times, with strong winds and gales along the coast overnight into Sunday. Further showers Monday but less windy.
