Woman dies following serious Haslemere crash

An 80-year-old woman has died following a collision between two cars in Haslemere.

It happened at the junction of the A287 and A286 on Bell Road and Midhurst Road shortly before 1pm this afternoon (21 February).

A blue Citroen Saxo car and a black Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 were involved.

The driver of the Citroen was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

The driver of the Jeep suffered minor injuries.

Surrey Police say the woman’s next of kin have been informed.

Bell Road, between the junction of the A287 and Midhurst Road is still shut.

Fernden Lane at the junction of the A286 is also closed and will remain so while officers investigate the incident.

Drivers are asked to find alternative routes.
