Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 12:16pm 14th February 2020.

The Flying Scotsman has become the first locomotive to pass through a part of the repaired Watercress Line.

It made the journey this morning from Alresford, officially reopening the route at Alton Station.

Watch the Flying Scotsman's arrival at Alton:

The section of the Watercress Line, part of the heritage Mid Hants Railway, was shut for a year for repairs.

Passengers will be able to ride a train pulled by the Flying Scotsman on the 10-mile route later this month and next.
