Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 6:00am 14th February 2020.

Major disruption is expected on trains to and from London Waterloo this weekend, with half of the station closed.

It's due to maintenance work.

The lines between Woking and Basingstoke will be closed all day Saturday.

Saturday service:

  • An hourly service between London Waterloo and Weymouth will be diverted between Woking and Southampton Central, calling at Guildford, Havant and Fareham. Where possible, passengers for Southampton and beyond should use these trains.
  • The stopping train service between London Waterloo and Basingstoke will not run. Trains between London Waterloo and Alton will make extra stops.
  • Fast and stopping bus services will run between Woking and Basingstoke.

Sunday service:

  • Buses will run between Woking and Winchester.
  • Buses will run between Woking and Andover.

  • Buses will run between Woking and Basingstoke, calling at all stations.

The lines between Ascot and Ash Vale will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday for maintenance work.

  • Buses will run between Ascot and Aldershot all weekend.
  • On Saturday the normal train service will run between Guildford and Farnham via Aldershot.
  • On Sunday train services will run between Aldershot and Guildford. These services will be altered to fit in with other trains affected by the work at Basingstoke.

Trains between London Waterloo and Alton are not affected by this work, but Sunday services will run to an altered timetable due to work between Woking and Basingstoke.

A reduced train service will run on Saturday 15th February between London Waterloo, Haslemere and Portsmouth to allow trains between London Waterloo and Weymouth to run on this route due to work elsewhere.

On Sunday 16th February, the additional late afternoon and evening services on this route will not run.

Other services will run to the normal timetable but may have minor delays.

Commuters are advised to check before travelling.
