Part of a roof has collapsed in Guildford town centre after strong winds last night.

Fire services were called to King Edwards Court, past Addison Glass and Windscreens, in Walnut Tree Close this morning to find a small section of roofing had come away from the top of the building.

The road was shut in both directions with police also on the scene.

A spokesperson for SFRS told Eagle a call came in at around 8:50am today, of "a precarious structure" at the address.

It said one fire engine attended, as well as specialist unit.

The road has reopened.
