We are warned of more bad weather to hit our area, as the Met Office extends an alert.

A warning for wind  covering Surrey and Hampshire has been extended to Wednesday.

A yellow alert goes up at midday today, and will now be in place until 5am tomorrow (January 15).

It was initially in place until just 11:59pm today.

It is part of a double warning - with one for rain also going up, at 1pm today through to 9am tomorrow.

The Met Office says we could get up to nearly 70 mph in some parts:

"Southwesterly winds will gust to 40 to 50 mph quite widely inland, with exposed coasts and hills seeing gusts 50 to 60 mph and perhaps close to 70 mph in a few very exposed locations.

"Heavy rain may be an additional hazard in places.

"Wind will continue to ease from the west during the early hours.

The severe weather could impact travel during this afternoon and the rush hour.

It could also affect flights.

Eagle Radio will keep you up to date with travel and weather through the day.
