A building housing a car wash has caught fire in Aldershot town centre.

Firefighters found it well alight, after they were called out to the High Street at around 3:30am.

At least six fire engines were sent to battle the flames - and to try to stop it spreading to adjacent buildings.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were helped by Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, with appliances from Rushmoor, Fleet, Farnham, Camberley and Guildford.

Road closures are in place - Wellington Avenue is shut between Princes Way and the High Street at the junction with the Naafi roundabout.
