Santa runners raised over £11,000 for Phyllis Tuckwell this Christmas

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 6:40pm 7th January 2020.

Around 500 people ran, walked or jogged Phyllis Tuckwell’s Santa & Elf fun runs last month.

As well as offering routes for adults, kids and four-legged friends, the runs also included a shorter circuit for toddlers, with the introduction of Santa’s Little Helpers runs.

The runs were held in Hindhead at the Devil’s Punch Bowl, in Godalming past The Pepperpot and in Farnborough to and from the Wavell School.

Fiona Chapman, Events Fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell, said:

“We don’t have a final figure yet as sponsorship money is still coming in, but so far they have raised over £11,000, which could fund our Living Well service for a whole week.

“Our Living Well team cares for patients who need help with every day activities, and offers therapies, advice and nursing care to help them cope with the symptoms of their illness and improve their quality of life.”

Phyllis Tuckwell supports over 250 patients, relatives and carers every day - in their own homes, in the community, at the Hospice in Farnham and at the Beacon Centre in Guildford - through medical and nursing care, therapies, counselling, social work advice and practical support.
