Some South Western Railway services disrupted due to landslip

Some South Western Railway services disrupted due to landslip

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 5:51am 16th December 2019. (Updated at 6:14am 16th December 2019)

Some rail services in Surrey have been disrupted because of a landslip.

All lines are blocked in both directions between Epsom and Ewell West stations and South Western Railway says it take a few days to work out the extent of the repairs needed.

Engineers are on site, but the operator says due to the complicated nature of the repairs, it cannot confirm when the line will be reopened.

This means that trains booked to run between London Waterloo and Epsom will not run their full route.

The following alterations will apply:

  • The 06:04 Epsom - London Waterloo will start from Motspur Park
  • The 06:34 Epsom - London Waterloo will start from Motspur Park
  • The 07:04 Epsom - London Waterloo will start from Raynes Park
  • The 07:34 Epsom - London Waterloo will start from Motspur Park

After this all trains booked to run between London Waterloo and Epsom will terminate/restart from Ewell West.

From Ewell west to London Waterloo trains will leave 14 minutes earlier than their booked time at Ewell West and Stoneleigh.

From London Waterloo to Ewell West trains will be 5 minutes later than their booked time at Worcester Park and Stoneleigh.

Replacement buses will run between Epsom - Ewell West and between Epsom - Wimbledon (non stop).

Tickets will be accepted on the following services:

  • Southern services between Epsom and London Victoria
  • TfL London Buses on any reasonable route between Epsom and London Waterloo
