South Western Railway is operating revised timetables during a near month of train strikes. 

Members of the RMT union are walking out from today (2 December) after talks in their dispute over the role of guards broke down.

The rail firm says only around half of services will run, including those to and from Waterloo, the country's busiest station.

Some routes will not have a train service or a replacement bus and some services will finish earlier than normal, at around 23:00. 

The following are details of the reduced service that will be running from Monday 2 December-Friday 20 December:

RMT strikes

The details of the following revised timetables may change at short notice. Passengers are advised to check before travelling

Basingstoke to London Waterloo (stopping service): A reduced service will run on this route, with one train per hour running in each direction. Additional services will operate during peak periods. The last service from London Waterloo will be at 22:42.

Alton to London Waterloo: A reduced service will run on this route, with one train per hour running in each direction. The last service from London Waterloo will be at 22:53.

Woking to London Waterloo (stopping service): Two trains every hour will run on this route. The last service from London Waterloo will be at 22:50.

Guildford to Ascot: There will be no service between Aldershot and Guildford and there will be an hourly bus service between Ascot and Aldershot. 

Portsmouth Harbour to London Waterloo via Guildford: A reduced service will run on this route, with two trains an hour (1 'fast', 1 'slow') between Portsmouth and London Waterloo, in both directions.

Additional peak trains will also be in operation.

The London Waterloo to Haslemere trains will not run, and stopping services will call additionally at Milford and Witley in both directions. The last service from London Waterloo is at 22:45.

Dorking to London Waterloo: Trains will run every thirty minutes between London Waterloo and Epsom, in both directions. There will be no South Western Railway services between Epsom and Dorking.  The last service from London Waterloo is at 22:39.

Guildford to London Waterloo via Cobham and Stoke d'Abernon: There will be one train per hour on this route, in both directions. An hourly bus service will also run between Effingham Junction and Epsom. The last train from London Waterloo is at 23:03.
