A man has been jailed after causing anti-social behaviour by being drunk and carrying an axe in Guildford.

41-year-old Daniel Paul Alan Knight of no fixed address will spend 26 weeks behind bars.

He has also been banned from entering Guildford for three years.

Daniel Paul Alan Knight Criminal Behaviour Order
Mr Knight cannot enter the area of the town centre above until October 2022, apart from for limited access to support services.

The incident was seen by members of the public in the Shalford Road area on the evening of 12 August.

Following Mr Knight’s conviction at Staines Magistrates Court on Tuesday (29 October), Surrey Police made an application for a Criminal Behaviour Order.

It was successful with Magistrates saying it was needed to stop his "prolific anti–social behaviour and to protect the public".

In addition to prohibiting him from the town, the order also bans Mr Knight from "behaving in a manner, or from inciting others to behave in a manner, either verbally or physically, which would cause or likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons" in the Borough of Guildford.
