A Second World War bomb discovered in Bordon has been detonated.

It was found yesterday in the Hogmoor Road and Hogmoor Inclosure areas.

Building sites, a caravan site and the concrete works in the area were evacuated as a precaution.

A 200m cordon was put in place in the area but a spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary told Eagle Radio this is expected to be stood down.

Hampshire Constabulary have thanked the public for their patience.

A spokesperson told Eagle Radio:

"We would like to thank everyone for their patience as our partners and the police dealt with this incident.

"We appreciate these things cause a bit of concern and disturbance, but the safety of the public is always our priority."
