Area of Bordon evacuated after discovery of suspected WWII bomb

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 1:28pm 20th September 2019. (Updated at 11:31am 21st September 2019)

The public are advised to avoid the Hogmoor Road and Hogmoor Inclosure areas of Bordon after a suspected World War Two device was uncovered by construction workers.

A 200 metre cordon is currently in place in the area and the Explosives Ordnance Disposal team are on scene.

However police now say restrictions are likely to be in place until after midday tomorrow.

Building sites, a caravan site and the concrete works in the area have been evacuated as a precaution and members of the public are also asked not to go to Hogmoor Inclosure.

Currently, the A325 is not affected but there are closures in place on Hogmoor Road, Firgrove Lane and Oakhanger Road.

Hogmore Inclosure remains a risk to ramblers and dog walkers so advice is keep out of the area.
