A dispersal order has been issued in part of West Byfleet after a series of reports of youths behaving badly.

Surrey Police say it means anyone causing anti-social behaviour can be moved on.

They may then not be allowed to return to the location for up to 48 hours.

The order covers the area below:

West Byfleet dispersal order
People causing anti-social behaviour in the area could be banned for up to 48 hours.

A Dispersal Order means that the Police can ask a group of two or more people to leave the dispersal area if they are doing anything wrong, or if they believe that they may or are likely to cause a nuisance to someone else.

If they return to the area after being asked to leave by the Police, they can be be arrested if seen.

This is a criminal offence and offenders may be charged and taken to court. If convicted this will give the offender a criminal record.
