Fire crews have battled a blaze at David Lloyd Leisure Centre in Woking.

Surrey Fire and Rescue say they were called to Westfield at 9.12pm last night (September 19).

Firefighters from Woking, Guildford and Leatherhead all helped put out the flames.

The roof was damaged but no one was injured.

A stop message was issued at 11.02pm.

The cause of the fire is not yet known but an investigation will continue this morning as the leisure centre will remain closed.

A statement on David Lloyd Woking's Facebook Page reads:

"Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances David Lloyd Woking will be closed this morning Thursday 19th September, and all classes before before 1pm cancelled.

"A full update will be made available later this morning and we hope this situation will be quickly resolved."
