Arrest made following fatal Hook crash

Police investigating a fatal fail to stop collision in the Hook area have arrested a man.

The 25-year-old man, from the Reading area, remains in police custody at this time.

Officers are continuing to appeal for any information regarding the incident, which happened at around 10.30pm on Tuesday (17 September).

It took place along the B3349, Reading Road, at the junction with Vicarage Lane in Houndgreen.

A silver vehicle was in collision with a motorcycle. The driver of the silver vehicle failed to stop and made off from the scene.

The motorcyclist, a 53-year-old man from Hook, died as a result of the collision.

In a statement Hampshire Constabulary said: "We’re appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle make off from the area, to get in touch.

"The silver vehicle has been damaged as a result of the collision and we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a damaged silver vehicle in the area."
